Happy Covid Bday

I never liked the number 13 and for good reason. I felt like 13 was always associated with a bad day but followed by 14th when everything fell into place again. As a parent, my Birthday definitely took a backseat but I still looked forward to the extra love from friends and family. My daughter had zero interest in my special day other than the fact that she got to eat cake, well eventually. My husband was isolating with a slight fever and the paranoid person that I am I sent him immediately to wait in a 4 hour line to get a Covid test. He ended up getting a negative result and I was ready to celebrate my special day with him. I asked him to take over looking after our daughter since I had been up worrying, taking care of both of them and just felt a little tired and overwhelmed. I quickly realized I must have caught the same "bug" that he had because I had no desire to get out of bed to even cut my cake. The night before while cuddling in bed with my daughter I felt my thigh...

The F word

Like most women today I let my work take over my life and didn't bother finding my soul mate until I was near my 40s.  Sounds good right? Um not really, men suck these days so I got super lucky is the real deal. We both knew when we met that our goal was to have a baby ASAP, after marriage. It was like a fairy tale well sort of in my fairy tale the princess went to therapy. I quickly got pregnant within a couple months which was great. Cut to my daughter turning almost four and us trying to get pregnant again. I realize this is a hush-hush topic for many but why? It's not easy and it's a crappy feeling finding out all the time that you are again "not pregnant". I love doing research maybe it's the sociologist in me but I learned so much about my own body and ovulation etc. Our bodies are seriously the most fascinating little machines and there is so much going on. I tried all those little ovulation tests which honestly drove me crazy along with taking early pr...

Hello and welcome back! It's been a while and so much has changed. I am writing to you from my new home that I share with my husband and little girl. Needless to say we spend an extreme amount of time in here. It has been my project to make our home zen, comforting but also practical all at the same time.  Like every other couple we are total opposites in certain aspects. My husband would put a picture frame up on every single wall in the home if he could but I on the other hand love bare clean walls. It's an ongoing joke between us like when I asked him for the Peleton bike for Christmas he answered with "when you put up pictures." I love our home and I am so happy with how everything turned out thanks to  a wonderful team of contractors that helped me design it. I still am new at all this and a bit hesitant with my choices. I basically know what I don't like, tend to know what I love but lack some confidence like any beginner. I have several little and big proj...

2 years 2 updates

So much has changed since my last post. I really took the time to work on myself and the rewards were amazing. Out of the blue I was set up on a blind date and within 10 months we got engaged. We had the wedding of our dreams in February and took our time planning a honeymoon. As soon as we bought our tickets for our perfect trip to Italy...there was a surprise! What could be so important that we canceled our trip without a second thought? A baby!   I'm so emotional typing this which makes me think it's definitely a girl! I had dreamed of having a baby girl my ENTIRE life. By entire I mean like since I was playing with barbies! God answered both of our prayers and blessed us with such a gift. So far the pregnancy has been pretty laid back. Some of my symptoms include bigger chest, stuffy nose and nausea. I haven't had any morning sickness but most foods gross me out. I have tried my best to eat healthy but in reality most of the time I just want cake. Anything with ...

What I Didn't Expect

I downloaded apps, started reading books but a couple things happened and I learned them the hard way. First one was that you burn very easily in the sun during pregnancy. I have been a sun lover forever so when a chance to go to the beach with friends for 4th of July weekend came up I was so thrilled. The beach was beautiful and the day was perfect, with only one exception, I became red as a lobster! After a couple nights of burning and not so hot showers it finally turned into a tan. I slathered on aloe vera any chance I got. I loved the tan but then the peeling started. I still will enjoy a day at the beach but I will definitely invest in an umbrella first. We still want to go on a honeymoon, well now a baby moon but with the Zika outbreaks everywhere it's been hard to find a place to go. So my second incident wasn't as easy as my first. Bleeding, red blood bleeding, No pain, no fever no cramps just red blood, The only time I ever heard of bleeding was when someone has...
