Meatless May

Let's get real, most of the vegans out there seem like they are perfect and never eat meat or dairy. Well, that's great for them but that's definitely not the case with me. I am a young woman who struggles with staying on the vegan diet every day. I do feel like this is part of the process and I hope I'm right. I have been less strict on my diet to say the least. I've been eating sushi and dairy lately and although it's delicious...it's not making my stomach very happy. I have been doing yoga which has made my tummy flatter than ever. Unfortunately my tummy only looks good on the outside but is a big mess on the inside. Did my stomach get used to the vegan lifestyle? Perhaps it did but these are the same problems I had when I was a teenager. Trouble digesting food and almost always feeling "sick." Sounds terrible right? Well you think that would be enough to get me back on track but it hasn't been. Why? well it's been fun. Yes, fun. It's fun to hang out with family and be able to eat what they are eating and enjoy it and have fun. It's more acceptable when a family member shares a meal with you and they are happy that you are not going on about your vegan lifestyle and how they are making a huge mistake eating what they are eating, but instead joining them in on the ignorance. Friends don't like it when they have to ask "are you drinking?" or "are you eating cheese today" when they invite you over or go out to a restaurant with you. Just like smoking, or any other bad vices, people love to do "bad" things together. When someone wants to improve their life everyone kinda views them as a pain in the a**. I'm not saying that I am not a strong person who can deal with all of this but I am saying it was nice to be the "old" me and just relax and enjoy being part of  "regular" society. I'm trying to think of a way I can get back on track and here is what I came up with. Meatless MAY.  I love the first of the month or Mondays because I love new beginnings. Let's try to be vegan for an entire month. Let's pretend that we are only doing this for a month and that we can go back to the "fun" in June. We may or may not do that. Who's with me?

No meat
No chicken
No fish (yes even sushi)
No dairy
No processed stuff or sugar and no salt (sad face)

This months goal is to eat more veggies than you have in your entire life! yes!!!!!!!! VEGETABLES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! EAT YOUR VEGETABLES!!!!!!! Eat fruit too but lets focus on the VEGGIES...yes, I know you are not a fan of vegetables but I know you are a fan of looking slim at that memorial day pool party :)
