My Cave

Hello and welcome back! It's been a while and so much has changed. I am writing to you from my new home that I share with my husband and little girl. Needless to say we spend an extreme amount of time in here. It has been my project to make our home zen, comforting but also practical all at the same time.  Like every other couple we are total opposites in certain aspects. My husband would put a picture frame up on every single wall in the home if he could but I on the other hand love bare clean walls. It's an ongoing joke between us like when I asked him for the Peleton bike for Christmas he answered with "when you put up pictures." I love our home and I am so happy with how everything turned out thanks to  a wonderful team of contractors that helped me design it. I still am new at all this and a bit hesitant with my choices. I basically know what I don't like, tend to know what I love but lack some confidence like any beginner. I have several little and big projects around the house. The goals and to do lists are never ending but organizing the space has been a big challenge since we moved in. I believe it was Oprah that said "everything should have a home" when she spoke about organizing her own home. Unlike Oprah I have a little toddler running around that literally has toys in every room but that's no excuse. My plan was to work on her toys this week but that doesn't sound very fun. I paused in my closet for a moment to think about what I could change in the space. I love my daughter's ottoman but I feel bad taking it away from her! As I looked for duplicates online I came across a chaise lounge and thought "hmm how about a woman cave?" I pictured myself sipping on a martini while kicking back in my robe. I quickly remembered that I am now "mom" and no longer have time for such things! Let me be totally honest with you, I also have another reason for this. We have ordered a bike for our room, which I hope not to use as a hanger. I have also finally ordered some bedroom furniture that I have been eyeing for a couple years! Now that the place will look so pretty and put together, I felt that the random clothes hanging on my drawer chest need a new home. I won't name any names but there is someone using it to hang their clothes. I do admit that I have taken up most of the closet space as I should! I guess what I am trying to say is a chez lounge in the "women cave" will be the perfect place for my caveman to throw his random clothes.
