Belly Fat Cure

I've never had a big belly, in fact my stomach is probably my favorite body part. Like most women, I've wanted slimmer thighs and a toned body overall. Last year, I was unemployed and went through a little bit of a health obsession phase. This lead me to the 80 10 10 diet, which although may work for some, made me have a big belly! For those of you that don't know much about that diet, you basically eat fruit all day. The good news is, as soon as I cut down my fruit to "normal" amounts, with a little help from daily hot fusion classes at Corepower yoga, my stomach was back to it's old flat self. Yeyy!

Where am I now?

I am working at an office job, meaning I am pretty much sitting at a desk from 9-5 like most of you out there. This can be a very quick way to gain weight! Not moving around and ordering whatever is convenient for breakfast and lunch can really creep up on you if you aren't careful. I know what you're thinking, tell me something I don't know. So as far as moving around I take the metro which causes me to take a little walk every day and I also try to walk to lunch rather than have it delivered. Doesn't sound like much but trust me every step counts! I also started using a Jawbone Up band thanks to Santa, which tracks all my steps and my sleep. As far as working out I have been trying to get back into the routine and checking out new options.

There are so many classes and Groupons out there right now with great deals! We really have no excuses at this point. So far I have signed up for Blazing Saddles classes. I went a few times and already noticed myself shrinking. Spinning can be really boring and painful (you know what I'm talking about if you have gone). Try to pick a class that has music you like to keep you motivated.I aslo want to add that the "free" classes at 24 are not much different than the classes I took at Blazing Saddles, except that you can rent shoes. It was my first time using the spin shoes and I may consider buying a pair.

Back to what I am eating....ok you ready? PROTEIN AND FAT. Yes, fat as in cheese, avocado etc. A friend of mine suggested a book called the Belly Fat Cure by Jorge Cruise and I thought why not give it a try, I mean if I can eat 20 bananas for breakfast then it wouldn't be fair to try this too. I don't agree with a lot of the processed stuff his guy says is ok to eat but I am willing to try this.If anything it has taught me that I was eating soooo much sugar without realizing it. This plan is very challenging for someone like me who 99% of the time doesn't eat meat or chicken but loves fish. I do love eggs which he recommends to eat, yolk and all. This morning I had a yummy breakfast which didn't seem like a "first day on a diet" kinda meal. Here is what I had:

9 AM: eggs with cheese and avocado

I would have liked to have some bread with this but I forgot to bring my "special bread" to work.
I only buy bread products made by Food For Life. Notice I did not say, I only eat bread by them, I only buy bread from them, because unfortunately if you put me in front of a bread basket at a restaurant I can eat the whole thing!!! Back to our plan so only bread that is not processed and is low in sugar and carbs. We all need fiber and cutting out carbs completely is just insane and will make you insane literally! Our brains need carbs to function. Ok so Day 1..wish me luck.

I admit I am feeling a little hungry but I might have a little snack soon, here's what I had for lunch...

Just kidding, you know I don't eat chicken! But if I did it would be a good quality one like this. This is my bosses lunch...think all my sugar talk is getting to people ;)

Here is what I had..
12:30 PM: Mint tea (no sugar) veggie patty, cabbage, radicchio, baby romaine, sheep's milk cheese, garbanzo beans, oregano with red wine vinaigrette
