Got to the Finish Line

I am finally done with my spring cleaning! What an empowering feeling this has been! So my last 3 categories were clothes, jewelry and pictures. Clothes surprisingly did not take me that long. I promised myself I will do this once every 6 months. I still am getting rid of stuff that I even kept. Let's say I'm going out for a night out and I try on some shoes and they just don't fit right anymore, or look outdated...out they go. It feels so good to only have things I love and getting ready is so simple. As far as jewelry, it took me an entire day but well worth it. I found some beautiful pieces I had completely forgotten about. The pictures also took an entire day. I sorted them by year and just filed them and put the folders away in a cute box I had. I got rid of duplicates and many other pics like scenery or something that I really didn't care for. I plan on going in and maybe making albums or clearing out more pics but I'm a little pooped for now. The jewelry felt...

Out with the old....

The Spring Cleaning continues... So I took on the crazy task of actually cleaning out my childhood bedroom and boy did I realize how much crap I was holding onto physically and mentally! I highly recommend decluttering to everyone, unless your house is already perfect and bravo to you if it is! you must be a control freak ;) hehe ok so here is a list I made myself because I definitely had a few anxiety attacks thinking this will never end.. Sarah's room -Jewelry (I put these in a pile and have not attempted to start yet yikes) -Music/Electronics (CDs and antyhing like DVDs etc) I also went to best buy and had them recycle my old CD player and my old cell phones and any other electronics I had been holding onto for no reason (don't tell my parents they are gonna be sad when they notice we no longer have a boombox) listen to every CD to see if you really care to keep it..I also wrote on CDs with marker so I don't wonder what they are every time I see them, including CD...

Spring Cleaning Sarah Style

Where have I been? I know what you are thinking..and I'm sorry =( Not only to my readers but more to myself. I was on the magical road to become a raw foodist and even got there as a fruitarian, but somwhere down the line I got lost. I stopped being creative, I stopped writing and most importantly I ended my obsession with healthy eating and exercise. Some may say, I started "living" and enjoying but yes I did get to indulge and "enjoy" but I aslo got myself a nice little H Pylori nightmare experience. In a way I am glad this happened because I finally figured out what has been wrong with my stomach for the last 20 years! YES 20! I always blamed it on stress because that was the only diagnosis doctors could come up with. Stress at 14? I mean yes I was a little mature for my age but stress? I now know the best thing to do for me is to eat "boring" food. Healthy food is boring when you have been eating whatever you want for months. I now have to slowly t...

Dinner Day 1

Image
I can't beleive its Day 1 and I am already having a hard time. Day one of even my water fast wasn't this hard! As soon as I got home I was hungry and thirsty so I opened the fridge for a quick fix and remembered the Almond milk is allowed so I had a yummy glass of unsweetened vanilla. Here is what I had for dinner squash, zuchini, onions cooked in the pressure cooker with 1/2 cup of bulgur pilaf with garbanzo beans (I totally overdid the garbanzo beans today! I even had a tiny bit of hummus) After dinner I waited a couple hours for my food to digest and headed out for a late night yoga session  I worked up an appetite at yoga so I had string cheese with a slice of ezekiel bread This seemed like alot of food for me for one day, it was as if the more I thought about dieting the more I wanted to eat! Suprisingly the next day I weighed myself and I have lost one lb. Could be the water loss from hot yoga but I never thought I could eat all day and lose weigh...

Hungry headache

Just got off work and had this as a quick snack. It does have 5 grams of sugar but I just didn't want to throw it out and I admit I was hungry :( I guess not eating sugar makes you hungry wow. I have a hedeache and can't wait to eat dinner!

Belly Fat Cure

I've never had a big belly, in fact my stomach is probably my favorite body part. Like most women, I've wanted slimmer thighs and a toned body overall. Last year, I was unemployed and went through a little bit of a health obsession phase. This lead me to the 80 10 10 diet, which although may work for some, made me have a big belly! For those of you that don't know much about that diet, you basically eat fruit all day. The good news is, as soon as I cut down my fruit to "normal" amounts, with a little help from daily hot fusion classes at Corepower yoga, my stomach was back to it's old flat self. Yeyy! Where am I now? I am working at an office job, meaning I am pretty much sitting at a desk from 9-5 like most of you out there. This can be a very quick way to gain weight! Not moving around and ordering whatever is convenient for breakfast and lunch can really creep up on you if you aren't careful. I know what you're thinking, tell me something I don...
