Pre Halloween party

ok so it's not really a party but lets just pretend! so here is what we are celebrating....healthy eating! hmm why do I picture you booing and throwing tomatoes at the screen?? lol I hear ya I love eating yummy food as much as the next gal but lately I am discovering ways to eat healthy but still be satisfied..which brings me to my next blog PUMPKIN PIE!!!!!!!!!!!! ahhh I was at whole foods the other day and I could not resist buying some organic pumpkin just to see what I could come up with. I am searching the web for a healthy pumpkin recipe. Promise to keep you posted oh and btw it's pretty funny what people out there in cyberworld consider "healthy" sugar is not healthy people!!!!!!!!!! anyways back to the present day, so I saw this pic on fb this morning on Louis Hay's page and it really made me eat healthy all day long! if you don't know who Louis Hay is yet hello!!!! she is amazing ..her CDs have really change my outlook on life! so here is the post... ...

Haloweeny

oh as for my Halloween costume..I decided that I dont have the budget to buy a costume this year and since I donated most of my clothes I didnt really have much to get creative with. I guess it's not over just yet, the real Halloween is tomorrow...Trying to really stay on track with spending because the bills are piling up! Making meals at home has really helped me save money, barely drinking alcohol is also a huge help. Still working on quitting smoking for good! I did buy a pack again last night =/ I really want to throw it in the trash and go get a carwash and never look back, Trying to prepare myself mentally and emotionally to get rid of that disgusting habit!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! wish me luck! BE safe trick or treaters!

pasghetti squash ;)

with a huge chunk of garlic ;) I know what you are thinking ...a big bowl of pasta yummy but straight to my hips! read on! this is yummy and good for you!!!!!!! Remember the time I didn't know what to make for lunch? well guess what I made! Spaghetti Squash!!!!!!!!!! It was so delicious  I may never eat pasta again! ok except for that one time my friend made a yummy pasta salad at her Halloween pumpkin carving party. It's so hard to make right food choices but a good start is making the right choices at home. I am trying to get into character for my Halloween costume. Can you guess what I want to be. After seeing Anne Hathaway in Batman I automatically knew what my next costume was. Very cool vintage looks for catwoman in the past. I usually try to get creative with my costumes and I try not to buy a costume in a plastic bag unless I borrow one from a friend or my sis. Halloween is a time to get creative! Try on a new character! if you are usually nice be naughty, if you are usually naughty be nice and innocent. So clearly I am saying I am usually nice hehe. Anyways so today I finished the last of the yogurt and I will take a break from it for a little while (until my next trip to costco). I worked out pretty hard last night at the gym doing an hour of weights and then an hour of yoga. Felt great! but when I got home I just wanted to eat shower and pass out! I am still trying to find the perfect balance of yoga, weights and cardio. I dont want to get bulky so I should focus more on cardio b...

Breakfast Diary

A couple posts ago I mentioned that I have had acid reflux attacks thanks to the nasty habits of skipping meals, drinking, smoking and eating bad foods! Well I have some good news =) The acid reflux is almost completely gone like 90% gone! So I have sworn off cigarettes, I am making sure I hit the gym every day no matter what "no Excuses!" and I went to whole foods and stocked up on healthy foods to get back on track. The main thing that I learned through this process of going from regular american diet (well more like armenian/american) to vegetarian then to vegan then to raw and finally to fruitarian...is that it is a process...you can't just jump from eating hamburgers to being a vegan or going raw. You have to go step by step and now that I have been a bad girl eating the old way I need to go back to step #1 which is ok because this is part of the learning process. So I did still have a little bit of meat this week but it makes my stomach so bloated and big yuck! b...

BEAUTY and the beat

Let's talk beauty it has been a while...ok so the routine has been pretty much the same here are some new pics of what I have been trying out...oh and a few other random things like Madonna =) ok so you cant see her face cause of the flash but thats how close I was to seeing MAdonna how cool is that? she looks amazing for her age! one onion 2 cups of red lentil 1cup of burgul heat up a lil olive oil  and cook onions til they are "seethrough"  lol cook lentil for a while until they get mushy in water and then add bulgur..add some chopped green onions and tomatoes on top and enjoy warning too much of this will make your stomach hurt and give you gas :/ vospov kofteh which is translated in armenina to lentil  meatballs but these arent  with meat and they arent balls go figure  cactus fruit! what a beautiful color! nice and bloody looking for  Halloween ...maybe you can come up with a creative halloween spooky dish with this fruit! ...

I've been bad =(

I haven't been blogging much lately because I confess I have not been behaving. I have been waking up and skipping breakfast, then having coffee or a late lunch and then dinner at night. I also have been drinking alcohol here and there and eating bad foods while dining out with friends and family..oh and the worst and most shameful one. I have been smoking =/ I know I am horrible and disgusting! BUT! there is hope. All these terrible things I have been doing to myself are teaching me lessons of how important it is to take care of the most important person ever (to me at least) ME! So let me tell you some of the things that I have been feeling..we will go from head to toe. So my hair has been feeling dry and lifeless, skin has been redish, getting breakouts and no glow. Bad taste in my mouth yuck! oh and hair smells yuck! clothes smell! back has been hurting...bloated ...I got an insect bite that has been inflamed to a golfball size, my clothes smell =( my car stinks! my clothe...

Hungry sexy cool

It's midnight in LA having trouble sleeping. might have a little to do with the fact that I'm kinda hungry. After my intense workout I get hungry for the next 24 hours! My body probably needs protein. I will probably go pick up that hemp protein powder again from Whole Foods. I know I have said this before but I will say it again. Trying to get back to focusing on eating right. I think I have the no smoking part down. Well, it's much easier when you don't have any cigs and you barely leave the house lol. Its so hard to stay social and be "good." It's like every time I turn around theres a cigarette or drink or a yummy dish in my face saying eat me you will enjoy it. Well lately I have had the "screw it" attitude of if it makes me happy I'm gonna eat it.  I think every girl who goes through this deserves a little (or in my case alot) junk food. I know I know, if I eat right I will think clearly and make better choices but guess what? I am huma...

Journaling

I almost forgot!!!!!!!!!!! ok so I have been writing in a journal for 10 days now and I highly recommend it! Every night and/or morning take about 5 minutes to write down your feelings and see how you feel in 10 days! try to add an affirmation in there too and repeat that about 20 times. FEELS AMAZING! xo

sleepy weepy

it's finally cooling down in LOS angelos but this weather is making me want to sleep ALL DAY! trying to get back into the healthy living cycle ..went to whole foods and bought some fruits and vegetables. coconut water, brown rice bread and almond milk. I realise that RAW is very challenging and that I can not jump into it. I need to first take the step of eating vegan, then maybe juice fasting and then i can go on to RAW? I can't go from pizza and fries to RAW. not in the writing mood today but wanted to check in and let you guys know where my head's at. NAMASTE

Going Raw

After todays yoga class, and months of listening to videos about the benefits of eating raw I have decided to join them. A few months back when I first started "eating healthy" by juicing and blending and cutting out dairy carbs and amimal products I started feeling and looking amazing. I let my emotions and stress get the best of me and fell of the wagon and finally went back to my old ways. Eating lots of carbs and dairy and always feeling hungry =( Thanks to keeping up my workout routine I have not gained too much weight but I definitely am on the road to it ! I already feel my energy getting lower and lower and my mood swings have been a nightmare. So last night my mom made fettuccine alfredo and yes it tastes good. BUT!!!!!!!!!! afterwords I felt disgusting, bloated, stomach was hurting all night and guess what I went back for another plate even when I felt gross cause I felt "hungry". the Reason I felt "hungry" was because guess what? JOBS JOBS JOBS

After watching the presidential debate I realized like Michael Jackson sang "You are not alone" Unemployment rates are higher than ever! I am so blessed to have a family that can put a roof over my head rent free but being unemployed sucks! I can't wait to get back to being a career woman! One thing I do know is that when you meet people that are going through the same thing you are it makes you feel so much better. What a sense of relief when someone says "OMG me too!" We are all connected in this universe and supporting and loving eachother is better than having all the money in the world. So I don't know which president is going to give us "more jobs" but I do know that things will get better soon. I think Obama deserves another shot and I do have hope for our economy. Things can only get better!

Fall Transition

We have had some crazy moons lately! The weather has been crazy hot and seems like everyone's life is turning upside down! Well mine kinda feels like it. So I have been interviewing aggressively for a job lately with no luck. One thing I have noticed during the interview process is that dating and interviewing is very similar. Here are some similarities 1-on your first date you dress up and try to say all the right things just like an interview 2-after the date or interview you wait by the phone to see if they "liked" you 3-you are not sure if you should "thank" them for the date or interview or follow up or just wait for them to call you 4-you shouldn't settle for just any company or any man 5-wait for the right job and Mr Right even if that takes a long time 6-don't give up hope that the perfect job or man is around the corner 7-shortly after finally landing the perfect job or man you will start bitching and complaining about it 8-while at th...

On the first of the month it's time for new beginnings ..with my bday coming up in December it's time to get serious about health ..turning 34 yikes! Day 1 of not smoking :) tempting especially with a pack in my glove compartment ..I usually get a car wash the day I quit so that I don't mess up the clean smelling car . I also got a facial today at Burke Williams ..much needed my last one was in February :/ felt awesome! Didn't get a chance to work out today ..deleted my fb account ..need to focus on me and my goals and fb is distracting ..ready for organic connections ..had some nice convos with feuding family members trying to heal from past arguments ..as far as diet goes I've been eating a lot  here's what I ate today ...bottle of water in the morning ..2 apples and 2 bananas ..green string beans with a little but if rice ( tasted like plastic note to self no more of moms white rice!!!!) sushi for dinner 1 albacore 1 tuna 1 salmon 1 uni edema me green tea ..h...
