Oatmeal
Hi! How are you?
Quick post about my breakfast lately. I stopped the 801010 for now and trying to find more info on the best breakfast that will keep me full as well as give me enough energy to get me through my day and an intense workout in the early evening. I have a box of my steel cut oats in the pantry and I have been experimenting with that lately. There are so many ways of eating the oats. I guess you are supposed to soak them over night but I am not very good at planning ahead :/ I kinda just want to eat when my stomach says she wants to. here are some of the ways I have been experimenting with oats...
-throw a tbspoon in your smoothie raw
-blend oats with double amount of blueberries with some water ...this keeps you really full
-eat 1/4 cup with 1/2 cup of almond milk a half cup of berries ( berries are great you can have more if you want ) 1 banana sliced up
ok I don't think I really recommend this because its so hard to chew, maybe if you do soak this before it will be alot better
-actually cooking the oatmeal which takes about 30 minutes, I chopped up a few dates to add sweetness and it was sooooo delcious and comforting on a cold day but I kinda ate more than I intended too so need to measure next time!
-Today I cooked 1/4 cup of oats with about a cup of water. So as soon as the water started boiling I threw in the oats and after 5 minutes I lowered the heat and started chopping my fruit. I did about 3 strawberries and a banana. I waited until the water was almost all the way soaked but didn't wait the full 30 minutes because I wanted to test out a faster way of doing this. Since I had a small amount, I think less cooking time was ok. It was actually a nice halfway point between raw and cooked. I didn't add the almond milk because it was already "wet" from the water.
Let me know how you make your oats! I wold love to hear your ideas.
