Water for BLD

For religious purposes I'm doing a water fast for about 60 hours .basically started Sunday night at midnight and breaking it wed morning after a church ceremony at 8 AM. Before I started the fast I started reading about other people's experiences. Seems like the real effects kick in on day 3 but I honestly don't think I'm prepared for that right now. I haven't really decided how I will break the fast tomorrow but I can tell you that I dreamt that I was at a Mexican restaurant. This fast has definitely taught me that I usually just eat out of boredom and don't really know what true hunger is. Well let me tell you what true hunger feels like..it's seeing an orange in your kitchen or any type of food on TV and literally salivating over it. I go through periods of wanting to eat and other times where I'm like this is ok and will be done soon. I've been taking it easy but that has made me kinda bored which leads to thinking I'm hungry ( well I really...

what do I win? a new car? jk so I am calling today win Wed. because I made it! I made it through the first 10 days of not eating any dairy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! claps claps claps! For my male readers please put on some earmuffs or sunglasses? hehe just skip to the next paragraph. So not eating dairy and mostly sticking to fruits and vegetables has take away 99% of my cramps (don't say I didn't warn you boys) So we all know that every month is different but I don't know if it's pure coincidence or it's my dietary changes. Wow I made it through without taking a single advil or even needing a heating pad. I did feel weak and not completely comfortable but compared to what I normally go through this was definitely a huge improvement. AWESOME! Let's see how it goes next month, I will keep you posted. Sunday Funday

so why am I in such a good mood when its freezing outside??? I am so proud of myself! I have stuck to my vegan lifestyle the entire week!!!!!!!!!!!! I have also started to drink a large bottle of water every morning pre breakfast. This has become a new habit along with drinking dandelion tea before bed. It has been a bit challenging getting "full" with vegan food but this has pushed me to find more recopies and get creative. Beans are definitely this weeks get full meal! I do admit I did cheat once this week by drinking some sake. The clear kind seemed ok but then I had a sugarfilled flavored one :/ I was at a dinner party and was a little tough to say no since the host made every dish vegan especially for me =) Hopefully no cheating next week. During the holidays I was putting alot of honey in my teas and I also stopped that completely. I came up with a rule for myself. Vegan 100% at home and 90% socially. Be really careful with that 10% please! I dont mean a hambur...

Matchy matchy

Ok so just had to post this because its way too cute.. In case you are wondering which color nailpolish matches the Dior patent leather well I discovered it while helping my mama pick a color from my OPI stash.. overexposed in south beach! Love it! Nailpolish colors are a cheap way of making me really happy lol..think I'll go super dark tomorrow . If you wear the same old colors all the time change it up and wear something your best friend would wear ..it only a week or so..have fun with it :)

Water!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! today's focus is water! liquid! hydration! ok so here is my goal of the day..drinking this big bottle of water. maybe to you this is no biggie but to me it is. I never drink enough! in fact is about 1 oclock in the afternoon and I still haven't even had a sip. I did on the other hand have a delicious juice this morning! I have been neglecting my juicer because I was using my Blendtec everyday. here is what I juiced today 2 green apples a pinky of ginger 1 lemon celery (like a whole bag) 2-3 cucumbers whether you are juicing just for breakfast or all day long as meals try to at least replace one whole meal with a juice!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! start with breakfast ! do it instead of coffee and cereal in the  morning and you will feel like superman or woman  =)

I can't believe how delicious this pie is !!! I can probably eat the whole thing but I won't because I want my parents to try it too..wow! I can't believe how awesome being a raw vegan can be! Btw I completely forgot the ginger oops! Check out the previous post for what I used ..I didn't really use portions and kinda just went with the flow and tried not to go too crazy with the dates ..try this tonight you won't regret it ...if you're a pumpkin pie fan that is ...nighty night!

Pumpkin pie again

So if you're like me and are a little sad about the holidays being over cheer up ! We can pretend its still the holidays by eating a yummy dessert. I have this box of pumpkin that I bought on sale for 2 for 1 that's collecting dust in my pantry so I decided I don't need to wait until next heart to use it! The recipe I found was not only vegan but it's also raw! How cool is that ???!!! Insert cheers here ;) so the crust is made of two ingredients Pecans Dates Cinnamon The batter consists of Pumpkin Dates Ginger (not sure what this is for) Cinnamon Think that's it...I'll post some pics once I make this and let you know if I left anything out ..so excited to get home to make this !! Time to hit the gym ciao!

Hi everybody! ok so today I made a delicious shake for breakfast that I wanted to share with you! packed with Vitamin C, because I don't know about you but I DONT WANT TO GET SICK!!!!!!!!!!!!! whos with me??? So you are probably sending your little ones back to school AKA germland! Drink this every morning and I guarantee you won't get sick or your money back! just kidding this blog is free!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ok so here is what I used -1 oz of goji berries -1 date -1 box of strawberries (which btw suck so bad this season that might as well blend them right?) -8 oz of almond milk (or however much liquid you feel like you need to get the blender going -3 tbs of hemp seeds I'm also baking some black beans which I soaked overnight! Gonna search the web for a fun recipe! let me know if you have any =) ok I'm back and this is what I came up with here are my ingredients -3 garlic cloves -1 whole onion ok so I highly recommend only using half an onion ...

Trader Joe's y'all

wow! I love juicing but what I love even more is waking up to an already prepared juice! good times!  I finally decided to give in to the Nike trend and bought myself a pair..they are super light but I think I am really attached to my new balance 911s ..I may just keep them for hiking  So I dropped into Trader Joe's today for a few things Figi Water so delicious! I forgot how good it tasted until I was dying of thirst in Vegas when I had to down like a 20$ bottle of water from the minibar in my room... got me some Persian cucumbers...check out last nights post such a basic delicious little salad..I want more! Decided to try these to see how the peel in this one is ... berries! gotta have them daily peeps..low in sugar and so good for you...my little family has berries every morning =) I also bought bananas that need to ripen and some avocados..oh in case you didn't know you can put the avocados in a paper bag with an ...

Cucumber salad

For some strange reasons I've been craving cucumbers lately. Maybe it has to do with he fact that I feel really dehydrated ? Anyways I couldn't think of what to eat and then I came across a vegan recipe for cucumber salad. I simplified it and just cut up some cucumbers and added salt and lemon. It was sooo delicious! It's probably better I have the peel but I just didn't like the taste. If you do keep the peel on you should probably make sure it's organic. I then had a grapefruit as my desert . That's all. Btw being vegan is soo much easier when it's summertime!

A great way of reminding myself to tell you about things is by taking pictures. Such a cool quick way of capturing moments! so here's a few great ones this week! We all know transitioning from holiday eating or lets be real, "pigging out" is not easy. You can't go from raiding the dessert table to eating a celery stick right? So here is an amazing way to transition without the guilt. I had some red apples sitting around looking not soo hot and of course I hate to throw out or waste any fruits or vegetables so here is what I came up with. I saw a video on Brenda's lean secrets fb page which inspired me to make this! 1-peel and apple and then take out the seeds with a scooper (there's gotta be something in your kitchen that you can use but if not just use a spoon) 2-preheat over to 365 3-chopp up 2 dates per apple (listen, I know they are yummy but dates are full of sugar so take it easy ok?)  4-you can use any kind of nut or fruit or anything...

Armenian Christmas

We all love extensions for traffic tickets, for bills or anytime you are dreading doing something! Well have I got an extension for you! What if I told you I am going to give you a second chance to start your NY resolutions. Yes, you heard it here! I am giving you and myself another chance to start over! Technically we are still in holiday mode because today is Armenian Christmas so "cheating"  is permitted. So here are my NY resolutions. No smoking- which I actually have managed to keep since the 31st No drinking alcohol- this is a tough one when being social so I have decided to change it to no drinking but if necessary during social events, one drink maximum! Eating more vegetables No sugar-did you know that even a teaspoon of sugar in your morning tea is more than enough sugar you should be having the ENTIRE day if you want to lose weight ? yes! think twice before you add that sugar! I know its hard but we just have to replace it with a new habi...

bACK TO THE grind?

Wednesday JAnuary 2nd officially getting back to my healthy ways. Ready to head out to Vegas with my BFF. Vegas is probably not the best place to start a resolution of health but when you put your mind to something you can do it no matter what the circumstances. I started out this morning with a yummy shake which included the following 2 frozen bananas almond milk cocoa seeds (which I recently found out aren't that great for you so once I finish the bag I am done) gogi berries raw oatmeal for snacks on the road I packed one sweet and one savory snack sweet- red appples with cinnamon savory- green apple with lots of lemon and a dash of salt (salt is not ok) let's see if I can stick to the plan.  Viva Las Vegas! oh PS taking a break from the gym until I fully recover from slipping and hurting my knee and elbow don't think I can wait to long so I will probably go back to yoga and Pilates to take it slow but Tuesday bac...
