Pilates and Pita

Gday Mate! Can you tell I watched the movie with the Australian? "Fat Sick and Nearly Dead" was a really cool documentary on how people can change their life around through juice fasting. It was such a coincidence that Dr. Fuhrman was the main character's doctor. It just proves to me that I am on the right path ;)  I have considered doing it but I think it will be hard in social settings like going out with friends. I do need some more discipline lately. Last night I wasn't feeling good at all =/ Today, I had a shot of ginger at Whole foods with some cayenne pepper to help with my nausea. I also had an Almond Milk Latte which is pretty much cheating because of the caffeine. For lunch I had a Veggie Sandwich with whole wheat pita at Coral Tree. The bread didn't taste good to me at all! This is proof that the changes in my diet are really effecting my pallet and veering me off of certain addictions like breads, salt and sugar. I had the same experience at dinner too! I used to be addicted to this delicious spicy tuna salad with ginger dressing at Kabuki. I just couldn't order the spicy tuna because I couldn't get the mayo out of my head! Instead I just ordered a dinner salad with the ginger dressing I thought I loved, but guess what ? It tasted so disgusting to me! It just tasted like someone spilled sugar all over my salad! yuck! I actually missed my boring lemon wedges! I did have 2 pieces of salmon with some white rice! I hate to admit it but that tasted pretty good but my stomach wasn't very thrilled about it. I think I just got a little bored but when I tried to go back to things I used to like, I realized I don't even want those things anymore. I think it's a good thing =)

My gym is getting remodeled so I thought this would be a great opportunity to try out some new forms of excercise. I met a friend in Hollywood for a Pilates class at "cyclates." Considering I had such a sleepless night of throwing up =/ (sorry TMI) I am pretty proud that I was able to get through the workout. Pilates is great because it tones certain muscles that you don't even know you had!

Green "fasoulia" using frozen cut italian green beans and tomatoes (last night's dinner)

such a clear explanation..Love Dr. Fuhrman!!!

I used to do vodka shots but ginger shots with the Whole Foods crew was just as fun!
