Buy only What you NEED
Good afternoon! I had such a fun day yesterday! I needed a couple things from CVS and thought why not take a walk instead of driving there?! Since I didn't have plans til later in the day, I thought this would be a good opportunity to clean out my bathroom and to see if I need to buy anything else. I ended up finding almost everything I needed! At the start of every season, take the time out to clean out your kitchen, closet bathroom, garage etc. We often forget that we even have things because they are stored away. Since losing my job last year, I have tried to follow a "don't buy it unless you REALLY need it" plan. I know what you're thinking! I didn't NEED the yellow blazer from ZARA but hey I'm not perfect and it really made me happy. We are so focused on material things! Ask yourself "what if I could never buy anything again and I had to make do with what I already own?" I know this may sound a little extreme but cheating is permitted. We are all struggling in this economy, but lets take this opportunity to learn how to be more frugal =) So after I cleaned I realized I am completely out of eye make up remover =( I asked myself "what would Ginger or Maryann do if this happened on the island?" Olive oil! Coconut oil! there are plenty of other ways to remove eye make up. Don't get me wrong, I probably will end up buying some remover (especially for those days when I go out and wear a smokey eye) but until then I can just use what I have in my kitchen. Mascara is my favorite product! I even made it as my science project in school!!!!!!!! But, ever since I started eating healthier I find myself not really needing tons of make up. I barely ever get pimples! you don't need to spend tons of money on lotions and potions ...save your money and go buy some fruits and vegetables!
Speaking of skin...a friend of mine is a skin therapist and invited us over to her place for a facial party =) this is a great way to hang out with friends, you can share beauty tips and even make your own natural masks and put them on each other. You don't really need to be an expert just go on you tube and look for some fun recipes. I had decided to skip the gym today and planned on going hiking instead. Never made it to the hike but hanging out with friends and going for a nice dinner after was awesome! everyone needs a day off from their routine whether its from work, gym, kids anything! I do love the gym and will go back today but ahhh I slept like a baby, turned off my cellphone and got the best beauty fix ever! SLEEP! so back to our dinner, we went to this yummy pizza place ( my friends said it was yummy) it was kinda difficult to not indulge in the pizza but I reminded myself of how I felt after my last cheat day! Plus, it was only Tuesday and I had already cheated on Sat. I ended up ordering an incredible salad, made with dates, arugula, pear dressing, lemon, vinager, walnuts (which I now know I am def allergic too!) and granny smith apples. they didn't allow me to get the dressing on the side so I figured hey if I'm not going to have pizza then a little olive oil isn't gonna kill me! So my friends were still eating and I didn't want to just sit there and make everyone uncomfortable (since I already finished my salad) I remembered what Dr. Fuhrman said to do when you go out to eat. ORDER TWO SALADS! I ordered a mixed green salad and ate that too. I was pretty full by the end!! almost too full! The place we went to is called MASA. I will definitely go back for their yummy salads. We went for a walk after dinner to grab some coffee and discovered this really cute place. I ordered a green smoothie and was so proud to say that the one I make at home is better!!!!!!! I took a pic of their juices so I can get more ideas =)
